Queridos amigos,
después de mi curso en Genk, trabajé otra semana y comenzamos aquí en San Sebastián nuestro primer curso FACE International en colaboración con Renato Cocconi. International significa que el curso se dará enteramente en inglés, una mitad se dará en San Sebastián y la otra mitad en Parma. Todo nuestro equipo de FACE en España y el equipo de FACE en Italia colaborarán.
La primera sesión fue un gran éxito, ¡de verdad! Tenemos estudiantes de Irlanda, Inglaterra, Portugal, Rusia, Polonia, Kenya y Rumania, realmente internacional. La primera sesión fue Introducción a la filosofía FACE, ceras de mordida, arcos faciales, procedimientos de montaje y conceptos oclusales. Después de la parte teórica montamos los modelos de todos los doctores y lo sorprendente fue para ellos ver la relación entre la discrepancia y los síntomas de la ATM y el desgaste de los dientes. No hay nada como ver estas situaciones “in situ” para entender por qué sucede esto y para comprender la relación entre maloclusión y posición condilar con signos y síntomas de la patología dental.
El grupo es muy bueno y han tenido una semana muy instructiva. La siguiente reunión será en mayo.

after my course in Genk, I worked for another week and then here in San Sebastian we started our first FACE International course in conjunction with Renato Cocconi. International means that the course will be given entirely in english and half of the course will take place in San Sebastian and half will take place in Parma. Our entire FACE team in Spain and the FACE team in Italy will collaborate.
The first session was quite a large success and it is really!!!!! international….we have students from Ireland, England, Portugal, Russia, Poland, Kenya,Rumania. The first session was Introduction to FACE, wax bites, facebows, mounting procedures and occlusal concepts. After the theoretical part we then went and mounted the doctors dentitions and how surprising it was for them to see the relationship between discrepancy and TMJ symptoms and tooth wear. Nothing like seeing these situations “in situ” to understand why this happens and to comprehend the relationship of maloclusion and condylar position with signs and symptoms of dental pathology.
The group is a very good group and they had a very informative week, the next session will be in May.
