Queridos todos, de nuevo estoy de vuelta y si no recuerdo mal, os dejé yendo a la Sociedad de Angle después de mi viaje a Noruega y qué os voy a decir, que como siempre nuestra reunión anual de la Angle ha sido estupenda y estuvimos casi una semana. La verdad es que se hace un poco largo pero merece la pena, pues todos los días hay comunicaciones y presentaciones. Si queréis ver el programa de este año, podéis ir a la página web de la sociedad http://www.angle-society.com/ y allí os podéis descargar el PDF de la reunión. Podéis ver que hay muchas presentaciones de muy alto nivel. Este año teníamos dos temas principales, el primero era Recesiones Gingivales y tuvimos la suerte de tener al profesor Anton Sculean de Suiza y nos puso al día sobre este tema. Como novedad nos presentó una nueva técnica de cubrimiento de las recesiones gingivales. El segundo tema del meeting fue Anclaje Esquelético y aprovechando el tema presenté una comunicación oral de 30 min. titulado “Implantes Dentales para el Control Vertical”. Presenté casos de mordida abierta y clases II con postrotación mandibular corregidas con intrusión de molares posteriores y autorotación usando los implantes.Tuvo mucho éxito y como curiosidad, no hay nada escrito en la literatura sobre esta técnica y ojalá me lo publiquen en alguna revista. Al final, en todas las reuniones de la Angle se presentan casos y se elige el mejor caso del año. Este año, el mejor “caso del año” fue el de nuestro compañero Juan Carlos Perez Varela y fue una Clase III tratada con SARPE y con Máscara. Todo un orgullo para el grupo español. Un 10 para Juan Carlos. Después de la Angle me vine para San Sebastián y aquí estoy otra vez trabajando. Ya sé que pensáis que no trabajo mucho, pero la verdad es que trabajo y… muchísimo. Dear all, I’m back again and, if I remember correctly, in my last blog I was on my way to the Angle Society Meeting after my trip to Norway, what can I say, as usual, our annual Angle meeting was great and went on for almost a week. The truth is that it ends up being quite long but it’s worth it since there are communications and presentations every day. You will see that there are many very high level presentations. This year, we had two main topics. The first was Gingival Recessions and we were lucky enough to have Professor Anton Sculean from Switzerland to update us on this issue. In terms of recent developments, he presented a new technique for covering gingival recessions to us. The meeting’s second topic was Skeletal Anchorage and taking advantage of the topic I presented a 30-minute oral presentation “Dental Implants for Vertical Control”. I presented cases open bite cases and class II cases with mandibular post-rotation that were corrected with intrusion of the posterior molars and auto-rotation using implants as anchorage. It was very successful and interesting as there is nothing written in literature about this technique and it would be great if this was published in a journal. Finally, like at all Angle meetings, cases were presented and the best case of the year was chosen. This year, the best “case of the year” was from our colleague Juan Carlos Perez Varela and it was a Class III treated with SARPE and face mask. A proud moment for the Spanish group. A “10” for Juan Carlos. After the Angle meeting, I come to San Sebastián and I’m working here again. I know you think I don’t work much but the truth is that I work…and I work a lot.
